For the 5th year RVCP was celebrating the international Aids candlelight memorial in Huye district. In collaboration with the Global Health Council RVCP was holding an event at Huye Showroom, representing the Southern Province of Rwanda. The event began with a march through the centre of Huye town to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS. Participants included members of Anti HIV/AIDS Youth Clubs, secondary school students from the Southern Province, university students and district such as university representatives.

After marching through Huye town participants returned to Huye showroom where there were speeches by RVCP, university and district representatives. There was also entertainment provided by the Anti HIV/AIDS Youth Clubs and secondary school students in the form of songs, poems, and dance and drama performances highlighting this year’s theme of "Touching lives..."
